Crane anemometer

Determining safe wind speed operating conditions on cranes

Anemometers provide measurements to ensure safe crane operation

Cranes are prohibited from operating in high wind speeds. In order to determine safe operating conditions, an anemometer (wind sensor) is typically used, mounted high up on the crane. In some countries, the crane cab must be fitted with a high wind speed alarm system to prevent continued use in escalating wind conditions.

Typically in crane anemometer applications, Gill WindSonic is used, along with a Gill WindDisplay mounted in the cab. Gill has vast experience in this field and can provide complete crane anemometer alarm systems if required.
